Salve
Salve is a common low Salento in the province of Lecce. It is famous for its navy which has five portions which are Ruggiano, Marina di Pescoluse, Torre Pali, Lido Marini, Torre Vado. During the Bronze Age the territory of Salve hosted settlements messapici as can be seen from various archaeological finds variety. The origin of the city should go back to centurion Salvius that in 267 BC would have had these lands in premium. In the ninth century AD, to defend themselves by the Saracens were built the walls and other fortifications that are still existing.
